1K Miles of Hope | Ep. 07: Seventh Day

July 4, 2026

I decide to run 1,000 miles over 100 days against cancer.

Day seven. 20.10 km.

The ankle is still there. I've been icing it, treating it, waiting on it. And yet this morning I put on my shoes and go.

I don't know if it's the right decision medically. But I know that waiting hasn't fixed it. The ice, the rest, the anti-inflammatories — none of it has been enough to make the pain go away completely. At some point you stop waiting for perfect conditions and run in the imperfect ones.

20.10 km. The ankle protests the whole way. I finish anyway.

The question from yesterday is still open — whether something in my technique is making this worse, whether the way I land is loading the wrong side. I don't have the answer yet. But I'm starting to think the answer won't come from a couch.

I'm here to raise funds for cancer research.

I used to hear that prevention was enough — but then I found out it isn't. There are far more variables than we can imagine. The best path forward is a cure. Make your donation. Let's be part of this together.
